City Lights Bookstore

Since the 1950s when it served as the center of beatnik culture in San Francisco, City Lights has also been a meeting place for writers, artists, and intellectuals. Founded by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Peter D. Martin, City Lights originally only carrier paperback books. Today, the bookstore sells both hard cover and paperback books from its on press as well as other publishers.
