Neighborhood: Union Square

Gig: Director of Sales at Hotel Rex, and Artist

What are you up to these days? I’m trying to find more time to spend in the art studio, while devoting enough time to my wife and kids, and keeping Hotel Rex operating successfully.  And I have a batch of homebrew IPA in the tank!

Where would you have your last meal on earth? I'd have a plate of chicken enchiladas and a Dos Equis from San Jalisco (formerly Los Jarritos) on South Van Ness.  The Reyes family are good people, and this is closest I get to food from my hometown (Tucson).

Where do you get your local gossip? There is a surprising wealth of gossip to be found in the hotel business.

Where's your go-to date place? We'd buy beers to-go from the City Beer Store. Drink them in the car around the corner, while listening to the radio waiting for our table at Citizen's Band to open up. Full disclosure - this describes date night with my wife Kelly and our newborn just two weeks ago.

Why do you love your neighborhood?
There’s plenty to do if you’re feeling fancy, and just enough sleaziness to keep things interesting.

What local merchant have you been meaning to check out?
The Common, a men's clothing store in the Mission by local shirt-makers Taylor Stitch.  I was on their site after my wife told me about this place, and have been thinking about it ever since.
