What are you up to these days? I have a film that premiered at Sundance this year – CONNECTED: An Autobiography About Love, Death & Technology. It's premiering in three cities in the Bay Area on September 16th!
SF is... beautiful, funky, pioneering, classy, fresh.
Where would you have your last meal on earth and what would you eat? The Shaking Beef at Slanted Door.
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? Francis Ford Coppola, because he makes films on his own terms here in the Bay Area and puts family first.
Where's your go-to date place? My husband and I always go to Cafe Jacqueline in North Beach... because of Jacqueline and those souffles. To die for. If you sneak in the back, you will see her with 300 eggs in a bowl... and all night she whips them up individually for you. There are not very many tables… but it is one of the most romantic restaurants in SF.
What's your favorite SF institution? The California Academy of Sciences. That whole area in the park feels magical to me. I have memories of going to the Planeterium with my dad in the '70s and watching the psychedelic laser shows.
What local merchants are you digging? RAG and MAC… I love the way they highlight designers like curators. And Flora Grubb. She's the curator of plants.
