SF is... my dream home, a strange, eucalyptus-scented tangle of stories and revelations, the place where people go to become themselves.
What's your most embarrassing SF moment? I won't disclose the story, but it was after dancing salsa on the tables in El Rio's back patio.
What's your go-to date place? Hands down it's the bar at ICHI Sushi on Mission. Go for the inspired omakase and the beautiful fish, and stay for sushi chef Tim Archuleta's charm and old-school music taste.
What's your secret spot in town? This amazing spot is about to become a lot less secret. I want everyone to check out the new Mission Community Market on Thursday evenings on Bartlett and 22nd, under the fantastic new sea lion mural.
What's your favorite San Francisco institution? The Giant Camera at Cliff House never fails to enchant me. On a sunny day, it's bliss watching the waves sparkle across that luminous dish.
What's the question you wish we asked? If you'd asked if there is a neighborhood to watch in San Francisco, I would have said that the Mission has a new cultural corridor, and it's 20th Street near Folsom and Alabama. The new Southern Exposure has become the cornerstone of a developing arts district.
