Who's your favorite quintessential local character? I love original prankster Mal Sharpe, especially as he talks to the passing crowd outside the Savoy-Tivoli , where his Big Money in Jazz band plays every Saturday afternoon.
What's your go-to date place? My wife and I had our first date at the House Of Prime Rib and we return when we want to relive the first feeling of romance over second helpings of meat, mashed potatoes, and spinach.
What's your secret spot in town? Golden Gate Park West (near the ocean) features a nine-hole golf course. And while I am not a tee-off person, sitting outside and eating amazing smoked ribs at Ironwood BBQ — that is something I can relate to. WHO KNEW? Great BBQ in San Francisco in Golden Gate Park!!!
What's your favorite San Francisco institution? San Francisco’s Public Library is sensational. The San Francisco historical wing is sensational, as are the exhibits that inhabit each floor. I love spending an afternoon hunting through it. Second on my list would be the Prelinger Library .
What's the question you wish we asked? How DARE the high-ups at USF sell the radio station without asking/telling/respecting anyone involved! Oh, sorry….not a question. But how about this: Did anyone know before the KUSF sale that the head of the university does not care about his community or his students?
