Neighborhood: The Castro

SF is… the only city where the physical geography prevents me from entirely regretting modern life.
Where does everybody know your name? At San Francisco General Hospital in the emergency room.
Where would you have your last meal on earth (and what would you eat)? I'd have the vegetarian burrito at Taqueria Cancun. Toasted tortilla. Whole guacamole. Step off haters.
What's your go-to date place? My kitchen, and then that epic little bench right below Corona Heights where you can see the whole city sprawl out to the bay.
Why do you love your neighborhood? As a junior Girl Scout, I sold cookies to drag queens in front of the Castro Theatre. Now as a grown woman, I never have to worry about what I wear or how late I get home in heels and a mini dress, on a bike. The neighbors aren't interested in my Y chromosome.
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? My Dad, Paul Ekman. He's the emotion expert of the world.
