SF is... a diverse gustatory explosion.
Where does everybody know your name? Most restaurants in the city – what does that say about me? Actually it's because I lead wine classes for waiters and sommeliers.
What's your most embarrassing SF moment? Every time someone asks me about Alcatraz. I have lived here for 15 years and have never been.
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? I love Jackie Jones, the lady who plays the saw while making her purple cat puppet dance at the Alemany Farmer's Market.
What local merchant have you been meaning to check out? I still haven’t eaten at Mr. Pollo on Mission and 24th. I have heard several times that the food is really amazing and cheap. He does a four-course tasting menu for $15.
Where's your go-to date place? SPQR. I love to sit at the bar and drink Franciacorta.
What's your favorite San Francisco institution? The amazing murals around the Mission made by Precita Eyes. I especially like the paintings on the church at the corner of 24th and Florida.
