is protecting forests and dreaming up a Hayes Valley mural

SF is... an amazing city that sometimes feels undercut by a weird shame from some quarters about being "too San Francisco," or too engaged in politics, or whatever. I love living in a place that's engaged in real dialogue about community, public space, and what we owe each other.
Where's your go-to date place? Emmy's Spaghetti Shack has been on a roll lately, and their "OMG" Dessert Bar will melt your brain.
What are you up to these days? ForestEthics just renovated its office at 1 Haight Street, and our new lease includes an option for a mural on the outside of the building. It's a great opportunity to love our neighborhood, and put our love for the world's forests on display for the city.
What's your favorite SF institution? Great American Music Hall is pound for pound the best music venue in the city – a gorgeous room with gorgeous sound, and the staff works hard to give you your money's worth.
What would you change about SF? I think limiting sections of Market Street to pedestrian and bike traffic has amazing potential. Driving on Market sucks anyway, and the Financial District is a ghost town on weekends that could totally bustle with street life were it opened up in creative ways.
Why do you love your neighborhood? Cue the Cheers theme song: "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name." I was in a pretty serious bike accident in April, and I was really touched by the gestures of people in Bernal who I previously only knew as the guy at the coffee shop, the plant seller, etc.
