Where do you get your city gossip? I adore “The Snitch,” SF Weekly’s daily news blog; it’s the perfect balance of hard news and punchy humor.
Who's your favorite quintessential local character? That would be the “Jesus Loves You” sign bearer. He feels a little less judgmental than his colleague with the “No Sex” sign who yells, "No sloppy seconds" to me in passing.
What's your go-to date place? Yancy’s Saloon on Irving is a cool place to go have a drink and throw darts, and it’s in my neighborhood, so I can sneak out and haul home if need be.
What's your secret spot in town? Gene’s Liquor; it’s a tiny liquor store in the Outer Sunset that makes killer sandwiches.
Where do you go to relax and get away from it all? Ina Coolbrith Park—which is really just a few benches and a bush in Russian Hill— is a wonderful place to sit quietly and enjoy an amazing view.
What's your favorite San Francisco institution? I really love St. Ignatius Church. I attend Mass there on Sundays, and I love spotting it from afar all over the city; it’s truly gorgeous.
