Neighborhood: Bernal Heights

Gig: Community Manager, Scoutmob

Where would you have your last meal on earth? I start my days, and occasionally end them too, with a latte at Mission Pie. So based on my current patterns, that's where you would likely find me. I love everything about the place.

Where's your go-to date place? The top of Bernal Heights at sunrise. "Go-to" might be a stretch, but it is certainly the best date spot, in my opinion. You get to hear and watch the entire city wake up. Be prepared, though. This is San Francisco and I think it goes without saying: layer up and bring a blanket.

Why do you love your neighborhood? All that exists when you venture past Cesar Chavez. The secret stairways that connect streets together, the unique architecture of the houses, Precita Park, and Bernal Heights.

What's your favorite SF institution? Festival season. Does that count?

What do you get obsessive about here in SF? I love bikes, picnics, and park culture. Specifically, I love riding bikes to picnics in parks across San Francisco.

What's your favorite under-the-radar SF restaurant? Saffron Grill - a quaint little Indian restaurant tucked between Divisadero and Scott on Fulton. Local, family-run, small, and delicious. It has a neighborhood feel, and most importantly, if you ask for a lot of spice they do not let you down.
