About Robbie

Robbie Kowal comes from a family of tireless Massachusetts progressive activists. He learned to listen, dance, and celebrate diversity while studying classicas at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. He has travelled the world as a professional music producer and DJ known as “MoPo” (www.motionpotion.com). After arriving in the Bay Area in 1997 he co-founded SunsetSF (www.sunsetpromotions.com) and has spent the past 16 years working to enrich your life and defend “the soul of San Francisco”. Among the events he has helped to conjure are SF Funk Festival, All Shook Down Music Festival, Sea of Dreams NYE, Ghost Ship Halloween, North Beach Jazz, Festival of the Golden Gate and Mojito Café. His latest obsession is Silent Frisco (www.silentfrisco.com), a project that uses 1000 wireless headsets to put music performances literally ANYWHERE.
