Cristal Fiel is a native San Franciscan and received her bachelor degree in Sociology and Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. She works at the San Francisco Arts Commission as Community Arts & Education program associate and serves on the board of local arts nonprofit, Asian American Women Artists Association. Between proactively supporting USPS by handwriting letters (online social networking? pfft) and obsessing over something or other (she makes her rounds among books, comedy TV, nerdy things she opts not to specify, and rom-com movies), Cristal enjoys monthly visits to San Francisco’s Japantown where she stocks up on nori, miso soup, fillings to put in the next best onigiri or sushi roll, and cutesy, random trinkets from Ichiban and Daiso. She also really, really, really loves tacos. And Janelle Monáe.
