About Allison

Allison started her life in Baltimore, Maryland — or at least likes to tell people she did. She’s actually from the embarrassing -to-say suburb of Cockeysville. A suburban childhood bred constant warfare between the desire to be a city-dweller or a small-town girl but chose San Francisco. It manages to fulfill both sides of the Green Acres coin.

She is a journalist/generalist/infovore who wishes she could write about “very serious topics” but instead prefers lengthy ruminations on 1990’s Nickelodeon or analysis of any and all cultural miscellany.

When she isn’t drinking hot chocolate in coffee shops or singing karaoke everywhere, she is generally eschewing vegetables for cheeseburgers, dabbling in extraterrestrial languages and reveling in bad puns, awkward situations and robot-inspired dance moves.
