About Sherri
Sherri Franklin, a long-time dog advocate, is the Founder and Executive Director of Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, based in San Francisco.
Muttville rescues abandoned and special needs senior dogs over the age of seven, finding them loving homes or giving them hospice care.
In 2003, Sherri began work on the “backyard dog ordinance,” that mandated minimum requirements for care for dogs and put some muscle into enforcement - making headlines around the country. Franklin was Vice Chairman of the San Francisco Commission of Animal Control and Welfare in 2002. In 2010 Sherri was honored with a Jefferson Award for Public Service. To date, Muttville has rescued over 1,100 senior dogs. www.muttville.org
