About Erica

Before moving to San Francisco I was fighting wildfires across the American West. I quit that job so that I could come to this great city, skateboard as much as possible, and start the San Francisco Chapter of Skate Like A Girl (SLAG SF). SLAG is an organization that builds community, encourages civic participation, and empowers women and girls through skateboard programing. Currently I work at the Arizmendi Bakery on Valencia St. Arizmendi is a worker-owner cooperative, and I was drawn to to job because of my love of delicious baked goods, democratic jobs, and my familiarity with team work, physical labor, sleep depriving hours, hot temperatures and dangerous equipment. Before firefighting I studied agroecology at UC Santa Cruz. I grew up in Ojai, so if you've watched the movie "Easy A", just combine that with lots of backpacking and that about sums it up
